Fun Fact Friday, all you ever wanted to know about sunrises!
-Sunrise is actually an illusion, because the sun never goes away – it is the earth that moves. When the earth rotates towards the East, the sun appears and seems to rise
– Sunlight is white, refraction from water and gas molecules causes the white light to break down into the colours we see
– Why do we mostly see red, orange and yellow? This is due to these colours having the longest wavelength
– Those places with less air pollutants have more intense sunrises (and sunsets) due to less scattering of the white sunlight
– Partial cloud can make an excellent amplifier of a sunrise, this is because the cloud reflects the first light of the sun
