Do You Wanna…

…build a snowman?

No, wait; that’s not right. Ahem, let’s try that again!

Do you wanna submit your tax return early?

Enjoy your festive break, safe in the knowledge that you don’t need to rush around in January, by being one of those super-duper organised folks.

We’ve already got a significant number of clients who can laugh as heartily as Santa, because they’ve submitted their return to HMRC already.

Feeling rested

What a fab break!

Thanks for your patience whilst we spent the October week with the kids.

We’re back and buzzing for the weeks ahead.

Do you like being super organised? Why not feel euphoric by submitting your tax return well before the deadline of January 31st 2020?*

Chat to us on 0141 889 1161 or info@caas.org.uk to discuss further.

*Claims of euphoria may be exaggerated. We accept no responsibility if euphoria not achieved.

And that was that…

The 5th of April saw the end of the 2018/19 tax year.

If you have a self assessment to be completed and submitted to HMRC, you have until the 31st of January 2020 to do so.

We have a number of clients who like to get their assessments in nice and early – a practice we would always advocate! (It lessens the number of new grey hairs!)

To speak to one of the team about completing your 2018/19 return, call the office on 0141 816 9750, mail info@caas.org.uk or use the ‘contact us’ form on this site.

Panic!

Now is the time of year when all accountants get frantic calls/emails, from people who haven’t even looked at their self assessment; let alone completed it.

If you find yourself in this position, the worst thing that you could do is put off getting help any longer.

HMRC state in their own words: “You’ll get a penalty if you need to send a tax return and you miss the deadline for submitting it or paying your bill.

You’ll get a penalty of £100 if your tax return is up to 3 months late. You’ll have to pay more if it’s later, or if you pay your tax bill late. You’ll also be charged interest on late payments”.

It’s scary, sitting down and realising that you’re going to be fined. However, the longer you leave it, the worse it will be. So, chin up, head down and call in an expert – you wouldn’t carry out dental work on your own (or maybe you would, if you’re in to that sort of thing...)

Asking for help means making sense of all the information you have collected throughout the year and knowing how much (if any) tax you’ll have to pay.

A good accountant should also help you figure out the best way to run the accounting side of your business, going forward. So that next year you’re totally prepared and won’t receive any fines – the money is better off in your pocket!

We hate to sound like HMRC, but ‘tax doesn’t have to be taxing’. Preparation is the key to success. Let us help you be more successful!
