Fun Fact Friday is all about the giraffe!

1. They are the tallest animal in the world

2. Every giraffe has a coat made up of a unique pattern of spots

3. The giraffe’s long neck is useful for many things: reaching the leaves of tall trees, fighting opponents, and the height added by the neck means they can easily spot predators

4. They have the same number of teeth as humans (32), but these are only on the bottom jaw

5. Their tongues are bluish in colour (to combat sunburn) and are on average, 50 – 53cm in length
